Back in October, we blogged about Nick's cool Cafe Racer that took first prize at the Melbourne Mods v Rockers event.
As I was in the workshop grabbing a few shots of Craigs A model, I thought I'd get Nick to drag the bike out to pose for a few shots before I left.
A stunning creation, you have to agree.

I dropped in to the workshop tonight where some buddies work on their projects. It's good to pop in and grab some shots every now and again.
The car I always anticipate seeing the most is Craig's Ford Model A. Not just because he 'Fueled' it up with the logo on the door, but because it's such a sweet car.
This was the first photo out of the box tonight but it's late so I'll get some more up online another time.

Dwayne Vance is an up and coming hot rod artist that owns his own company called 'Future Elements'.
Based in Califorina, his client lists include names such as Mazda USA, Texaco, Oakley, Mattel, Hasbro, SpinMasters, RC2, Upper Deck, Flying Lizard Motorsports, Cobra Engineering, Chumba Racing, Foothill Fabrication, Blackstar Paintball, Echo Factory, Corel Painter, DC comics, EA Games, Bizzare Creations and Troy Lee Designs.
He was a senior designer for Mattel Hot Wheels and a Director of protective equipment at Troy Lee Designs.
He now has his own line of hot rod art an published a book called The Hot Rod Art Book: Masters of chicken Scratch. The book contains profiles of some fantastic artists involved in the hot rod scene, so as you can imagine it's right up our alley. I've been back down to Rancho Deluxe again for more shots of Ben's roadster. Yeah, a regular occurrence I know, but if one of your mates had built a car this good and you had a camera handy, what would you do?

Spotted cruising around Bright late last year, this roadster had a really cool, simple look. I think someone told me that the car had made quite a trip to get to the event, but I don't remember where it had travelled from. Any ideas?

Last night was incredibly frustrating, but yet hugely educational at the same time. I dropped in to see Ben at Rancho after sun down to set up a shoot of his newly finished roadster.
They say black cars are the hardest to shoot, and I made a point of finding that out the hard way. I'm still sorting through the photos and trying to decide how many I can confidently show to the world, so watch this space and I may get a few more up soon.

Yes, it's a Porsche. Not to the taste of every hot rod addict, I know. Well, I'm a big fan of the odd old Porka or 2, and this one looked great in the paddock at Kustom Nationals, so how could I not be a little taken by it?
Sitting on polished Fuchs wheels, the Outlaw 356 coupe sat just right, and I will be chasing it down for some more photos in the future, if I can.

Considering we had just got back from a tiring (but great) 3 weeks out of the country just a couple of days before, we made the trek down to Phillip Island to set up the trade stand at the Kustom Nationals.
Not only were we rewarded with fantastic weather, and a huge number of Australia's finest cars, but some good trade also came our way. I suppose they say it always comes when you least expect it, but for some reason, we had our most successful weekend to date.
A big thank you to all of you who came over to say hi and to make a purchase or 2. With your continued support, we can keep churning out the goods in return.

It's a new year, and a new issue just out so what better to kick things off than to introduce the Fuel Girls. Nadyne, Samantha and Megan came down to the Kustom Nationals event at Phillip Island at the weekend to help out with the magazine.
They tell me that they had a lot of fun on Sunday, meeting everyone and generally having a great time. They will be attending future Victorian events, so keep an eye out for the ladies in pink! Thanks for brightening up the day, girls.

I'm happy to report that the delivery of the new magazines has finally arrived, and issue 03 is now shipping through the online shop.

I've posted a single shot of this car before, but I do think it's very cool so here are a couple more during the build.

There's still about a month to go until it starts shipping, what with the festive season and all, but regardless.. here's the first glimpse of the new cover design.
It's based around a close up shot of Chris & Sue Hadgkiss' Willys Gasser, shown not that long ago in our blog here. The sun was shining down on it with such fantastic effect at the Bright Rod Run on that Sunday afternoon 5 weeks ago, that I knew there and then exactly what the cover design would be.
The order books will be open shortly for pre-ordering so watch this space.

It's no secret that this car is one of my favourites doing the rounds on the Australian hot rod circuit. Now supporting some cool '55' side graphics, this shot was from a year ago before the modification.
In my opinion, a great example of simplicity winning through. Any ideas if the paint is an 'actual' colour from somewhere, or a one off made up by the owner?
